A Rainy Walk

Not much to report around these parts. It was a pretty average week around our house and unfortunately very few pictures were taken. I guess that's what happens when we are both working again. Elliott has gotten to be a champion roller. If you put him on the ground on his back he will immediately roll to his left side and eventually (sometimes it's faster than others) he'll land on his tummy. Then he's not quite sure what to do with himself. He also wants to be sitting up, not lounging out anymore. The bad thing about that is - I think - it puts more pressure on his tummy so he's puking more... oh well, that's life.

We had our first slumber party this past weekend. Our niece, Brooke, came over on Saturday morning and we kept her until Sunday afternoon. The rest of her family was very sick with the flu and she was bouncing off the walls being stuck at home. We took her to OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) and to a friends house where she got to fish in their boat well. We got a taste of what it's like to have more than one kid. How do you keep your house clean with 2+ kids?? No pictures to show of all that fun, unfortunately, we were too busy!

Today I braved the weird Oregon weather and took Elliott out for a walk. Since it had been raining on and off all morning I brought out the big kid seat for his stroller. The big seat has a plastic rain attachment. Good thing too, about half way through the way the skies opened up on us and we got drenched. Actually, I got drenched, Elliott was happily sleeping under his plastic shield. At that point I decided to turn around and head home...walking in dripping rain is one thing, a downpour is a whole different story.

Here's E as we were getting him fitted for the big seat:

Maybe next time I'll just stay in :)

Old Friends

During my senior year of college I lived with two other girls, Jen and Brenda. After college I moved back home to Portland and lost touch with both of them. Luckily in the last few years I've been able to reconnect with them and am loving hearing about their lives. Jen is now living in Nashville, TN with her 3 adorable kids and wonderful husband, Jon. Brenda just moved back to the West Coast with her husband Matt and 2 daughters.

The funny thing is that when I was about 5 months pregnant I found out that Jen was also expecting with her 3rd and was due only a few weeks before me. Then I found out that Brenda was expecting her 2nd baby only a few days before me!! Jen had Kaylee on Oct. 20th, I had Elliott on Nov. 3rd and Brenda had Addie on Nov. 7th. So fun that we were all expecting within a few weeks of each other!

Well, Brenda and Matt decided to take a road trip up to Seattle to visit friends and we were lucky enough to have brunch with them yesterday morning. It was so great to see Brenda and Matt again. Their 2 daughters are so cute! Here is Brenda and I with Addie and Elliott. I guess there was something more exciting to look at for the kids:

Jen - I'm sorry you couldn't be there to join in on the fun :(

Four Months Old!

Happy Four Months Elliott!!

Here is his four month picture:

At his four month doctor visit Elliott weighed in at 15lbs 9oz (70 %) and is now 26 1/2 inches long (90 %). He's a big kid! He has started to chat with us and will laugh more than just the "heh" he was doing a few weeks ago. He rolled from front to back for the first time last week while at Grandma Godley's house. Here is a video of him hanging out with Dan yesterday, and then for the second half I was able to get a video of him rolling in his crib this morning:

We went to the zoo this past weekend for the first time as a family. Elliott actually stayed awake until about 20 minutes before we left. He seemed to be happy taking in all the different animals. The zoo here is doing some construction right now, hopefully this summer we'll be able to see even more animals.

At Starbucks after the zoo...getting warm!

Later that day we celebrated Brooke's 4th Birthday. As always Grace was very excited to see Elliott. She is really sweet and just wants to love him and kiss him (and sometimes put him in a choke hold...)
